made to those who look for the appearing of Christ?
"So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and
unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin
unto salvation." Hebrews 9:28.
How many will
receive a reward when He comes?
"For the Son of man shall come in the glory
of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man
according to his works." Matthew 16:27.
Did the disciples think that death would be the
second coming of Christ?
"Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man
do? Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry
till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me. Then went this
saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet
Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I
will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?" John
21:21-23.
If death
is not the coming of Christ, how will He come?
"And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld,
he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while
they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood
by them in white apparel;"Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why
stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from
you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go
into heaven." Acts 1:9-11 (Rev. 14:14).
How many
will behold Him when He comes?
"Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him,
and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall
wail because of him. Even so, Amen." Revelation 1:7.

wonderful demonstration will accompany the Lord's coming?
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the
dead in Christ shall rise first." 1 Thessalonians 4:16.

"And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received
not the promise: God having provided some better thing for us,

"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear
what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like
him; for we shall see him as he is." 1 John 3:2.

"His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as
snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; "And his feet like unto

shineth in his strength." Revelation 1:14-16.

them, what shall we hear from the Saviour?
